The recent demise of flash for mobile, announced 9 Nov 2011, http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/flash-focus.html, means that ultimately flash for the web will begin to ebb away. As mobile internet browsing takes hold, Morgan Stanley predict that the mobile web will be larger than desktop browsing by 2015, the need for a web presence that caters for all devices will inevitably lead to dropping flash on web sites, and the increase in HTML 5 content which is viewable across all devices.
Web standards are moving in the same way, with Adobe pushing new HTML 5 tools as well (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/edge/), it means that Flash will begin to look outdated, if you can actually see it at all.
